01 / ABOUT

Practicing engineer.

I’ve been designing HVAC systems for over 20 years — and I still enjoy solving the difficult parts. I’m a Chartered HVAC Engineer (EstQF Level 8) and founder of Virtex OÜ. I remain directly involved in design, focusing on indoor climate, IAQ, ventilation, heating, cooling, and energy efficiency.

My experience includes hotels, laboratories, schools, and SPA facilities in Estonia and abroad, combining engineering problem-solving, systems design, and supervision experience. I believe good engineering starts with understanding the physics behind a problem — and finding solutions that work in practice, not just on paper.

Engineering notes from practice.

INDOOR CLIMATE · SAMPLE POST

Before choosing equipment, I define how the space will be used and what a good indoor environment means for its occupants.

POOL & SPA · SAMPLE POST

Why pool area alone is not enough to determine ventilation and dehumidification demand.

ACOUSTICS · SAMPLE POST

Two values expressed in decibels, but two different questions: what the source emits and what the listener receives.

ENGINEERING PHILOSOPHY

“Engineering starts with understanding the problem, not with selecting the equipment.”

“Engineering starts with understanding the problem, not with selecting the equipment.”

Good engineering means defining the correct design criteria, understanding the physics behind the system, and making decisions that remain technically sound during construction and operation.
